Mortgage Network recognizes top female originator

Mortgage Network, one of the largest independent mortgage bankers in the eastern U.S., has recognized Sofia A. Travayiakis as its top woman originator.

Travayiakis, a senior loan officer and manager of the West Roxbury, Mass., branch, was also named a top 100 originator for 2018 by the National Association of Minority Mortgage Bankers of America, a national trade association. She originated over $65 million in loans last year.

“Sofia is talented, hard-working and genuinely cares about her customers,” said Mortgage Network CEO Robert McInnes. “Sofia is truly deserving of every accolade she has received.”

Travayiakis began her mortgage industry career more than 20 years while she was earning her undergraduate degree from the University of Utah. At age 18, she got a job as a loan processor at Assurance Mortgage, then moved on to work as a loan officer and branch manager for companies like Wells Fargo, New York Mortgage and Countrywide Home Loans. She joined Mortgage Network in 2015.
