New role aims to enhance strategic operations and investment initiatives
The Amherst Group has announced that Evan Levy (pictured) has joined its leadership team as vice chairman and an executive committee member.
Levy will take on a pivotal role, working closely with Amherst’s chairman Sean Dobson, to steer the New York City-headquartered firm through strategic and operational growth.
Levy isn’t new to the real estate game. He brings almost 30 years of experience to the table. His career highlights include a notable stint as co-head of the real estate group at Weil, Gotshal & Manges since 2019. Before that, Levy spent 21 years making his mark at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.
“As one of the foremost experts and real estate lawyers in the industry, Evan is uniquely positioned to identify and capitalize on strategic initiatives that further optimize our investment platform,” Dobson said in the company’s press release. “Adding a leader of Evan’s caliber demonstrates the strength of Amherst’s platform and growth potential, and I am thrilled to welcome him to our team.”

“Having worked closely with Sean Dobson for over a decade, I’ve experienced firsthand the power of the Amherst platform at work,” said Levy. “The team’s unique ability to identify and capture high-barrier, high-complexity investment opportunities that generate alpha at scale is what drove me to Amherst, and I look forward to playing a role in the continued strategic evolution of the firm as a real estate and capital markets leader.”
