Mortgage professionals join to drive regional growth
Certainty Home Lending, a national mortgage lender and part of the Guaranteed Rate network, has announced the addition of two mortgage industry veterans to its leadership team.
Larry Torch (pictured left) joined as executive vice president and divisional manager, while Craig Thomason (pictured right) stepped in as vice president of mortgage lending, bringing decades of experience to Certainty’s operations.
Torch, whose mortgage career began in 1991, brings a wealth of experience from his recent role as Southwest regional manager at loanDepot, where he spent 13 years. Prior to that, he served as senior vice president and regional sales executive at Bank of America, managing 175 home loan consultants across 18 branches in Illinois and Wisconsin. His earlier experience includes a role as an area sales manager at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.
The company said Torch has received the Circle of Excellence award 12 times and has consistently produced billions in loan volume annually.
“While his incredible track record speaks for itself, he prides himself much more on truly hearing what his clients want, helping them determine their needs, and then delivering the most appropriate product to meet that need,” Certainty Home Lending CEO Franco Terango said in an emailed statement.
Thomason also brings over three decades of experience in the mortgage industry, having held senior positions at multiple leading financial institutions, including AmeriHome Mortgage, Flagstar Bank, Guaranteed Rate, Bank of America, CTX Mortgage, and Cal Bay Mortgage. Based in Northern California, Thomason will focus on expanding Certainty’s presence in that region.
“Craig also comes to us with a stellar reputation and proven record of success,” Terango added. “He began his career as a personal banker and has carried that experience throughout his mortgage banking career. Accordingly, he treats each borrower as if they were his only customer and provides a level of service that has repeatedly impressed clients and peers alike.”
Certainty Home Lending, headquartered in Dallas, has been steadily expanding its leadership team.

Earlier this year, the company appointed Andrew Siddon as executive vice president and divisional manager for the Mid-Atlantic region. Siddon, with over 20 years in loan origination, is spearheading expansion efforts in the Washington DC metro area and across the Mid-Atlantic.
