Freddie Mac has appointed Dennis Hermonstyne Jr. (pictured) as its new senior vice president and chief compliance officer. He is set to join the company on September 19 and will become part of the senior operating committee.
Hermonstyne has spent over two decades managing compliance programs for national banks and international financial services companies, most recently serving as the executive vice president and chief compliance officer of Boston-based Santander Bank, N.A.
He has also held various legal positions at federal regulatory agencies, including the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Georgetown University and a Juris Doctor from Catholic University Columbus School of Law.
At Freddie Mac, Hermonstyne will be responsible for the company’s compliance risk management program, which involves legal, regulatory and conservatorship obligations. He will be reporting to Freddie Mac CEO Michael DeVito and working closely with chief risk officer Anil Hinduja.
“Dennis is an accomplished compliance officer with a broad experience at national and international financial services firms,” said DeVito. “He will be an excellent addition to Freddie Mac’s senior operating committee. I look forward to working closely with Dennis as we continue Freddie Mac’s commitment to safety, soundness, and world-class risk management.”
