MIS appoints first marketing officer

Mortgage Information Services, Inc. (MIS) has introduced changes in its organizational structure by adding two key positions to strengthen its marketing and sales operations.

After serving MIS for 25 years, David Stroop (pictured) is taking on the newly created role of chief marketing officer. He is tasked with identifying growth opportunities, working closely with the executive team, and leading the expansion of the company’s sales force. He will also lead efforts to expand the sales team to enhance brand awareness and increase market share within all segments of the real estate industry.

Stroop's career at MIS has spanned both operational and business development roles, including a decade dedicated to client relations, account management, and business acquisition.

"Honored and humbled," Stroop posted on his LinkedIn page. "There have been so many along the way that have provided encouragement, guidance, knowledge, and support over the years. I am truly standing on the shoulders of giants."

According to MIS CEO Aaron Stein-Sapir, Stroop's understanding of the title industry and his history with the company position him to guide it through its next phase of development.

“I have worked closely with David over the last 10 years on just about every initiative for growth and strategy within MIS. His expertise covers all aspects of the title industry, and I have inherent trust in his understanding of what needs to be done to position MIS for future success,” said Stein-Sapir.

Alongside Stroop’s promotion, MIS has hired Renee Sorrells as a sales account executive. Sorrells joined the company after a 15-year tenure at a national title agency, where she contributed to the organization’s growth from a startup to one of the largest agencies in the industry. At MIS, her responsibilities will include fostering new client relationships and increasing the company’s presence both regionally and nationally.

Stroop described Sorrells’s addition as significant for strengthening MIS’s sales efforts and enhancing its outreach to clients across diverse markets.

“Renee’s reputation within the industry is second-to-none. We are excited to have her as part of the MIS family, and to see her drive new business and create a deeper brand awareness of MIS to the market,” said Stroop.

Established in 1990, MIS serves the mortgage industry with title reports, settlement services, and technology solutions.
