Respected industry head will help the association advance homeownership among Hispanics
The National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) has announced the appointment of affordable housing leader Cerita Battles as chairwoman of its 2022 corporate board of governors.
An industry veteran with 23 years of mortgage experience, Battles will co-chair NAHREP’s board of governors, along with 2021 NAHREP president Sara Rodriguez. The corporate board of governors (CBOG) provides industry and practitioner insights on the Hispanic real estate market, analyzes business opportunities for NAHREP’s corporate partners, and advises the organization on housing policy.

Battles currently serves as the head of community and affordable lending at JPMorgan Chase. Prior to that, she spent almost a decade at Wells Fargo as head of retail diverse segments. Battles’ extensive mortgage career also includes time spent at Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, and Barnett Bank.
“We are blessed to have Cerita join the NAHREP corporate board of governors. Cerita’s many years of respected leadership and successes in expanding homeownership and generational wealth will steward the NAHREP legacy for a new generation,” Rodriguez said.
