Updates announced amid plans to focus on transformation
Mr. Cooper Group Inc. has announced a series of senior leadership changes aimed at advancing its digital-first strategy and leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to improve the home loan experience.
In a statement, Jay Bray, chairman and CEO of Mr. Cooper Group, praised the company’s technology teams for their exceptional work in evolving the homeownership experience. “The team’s depth of experience and passion for discovering new and innovative solutions will truly transform the mortgage space and better serve American homeowners,” he said.
Working towards digital transformation
Sridhar Sharma will transition to the role of executive vice president and chief innovation and digital officer. Sharma, who has been with Mr. Cooper for the past decade, previously served as chief information officer. Under his leadership, the company developed Pyro AI, a patented AI and advanced machine learning platform, and built an award-winning digital platform that has enhanced customer service and recapture rates. In his new role, Sharma will focus on implementing AI and machine learning solutions to create a more seamless experience for customers and team members while driving forward the company’s digital-first strategy.
The company also announced the appointment of Jeff Carroll as senior vice president and chief technology officer. Carroll brings over 20 years of experience in technology operations, including infrastructure, cloud platforms, and technology modernization initiatives. Most recently, he held the position of senior vice president of platform and cloud engineering at Sabre, where he managed the company’s technology infrastructure and led modernization efforts that resulted in significant cost efficiencies and improved security, noted the news release.
In addition to these roles, Mr. Cooper will welcome Prerna Kandhari and David Graham as senior vice presidents overseeing data strategy and governance. Kandhari, who joins from Capital One, brings extensive experience in scalable big data platforms and AI solutions. Graham, who has held leadership positions at the Royal Bank of Canada and Standard Chartered Bank, brings expertise in data governance and advanced analytics.
Mike Weinbach, president of Mr. Cooper Group, emphasized the company’s commitment to digital transformation, stating: “We are very excited to deepen our technology leadership expertise and build on our momentum while unleashing the power of responsible AI to give our customers a better experience driven by new tools, data, and products to help make homeownership more rewarding.”
