Success Mortgage Partners CEO and Opens Doors co-founder join the board
The Mortgage Bankers Association's (MBA) Opens Doors Foundation has added two prominent figures to its board of directors: Owen Lee, MBA’s 2025 vice chair and CEO of Success Mortgage Partners (SMP), and philanthropist Mary Clarke Stevens.
The foundation provides mortgage and rental assistance to families with critically ill or injured children, enabling parents to stay by their child’s side during treatment without risking the loss of their home.
Lee (pictured), co-founder and CEO of SMP, brings years of experience in the mortgage industry. Since 2002, he has led SMP to close billions of dollars in mortgage loans annually, operating across 42 states with over 600 employees. Lee also serves as a managing member of Title Partners, which provides title insurance and escrow services. His appointment comes as part of his broader role as MBA’s vice chair for 2025.
Mary Clarke Stevens, a co-founder of the Opens Doors Foundation, has played a critical role in the organization since its establishment in 2012. Alongside her late husband, former MBA president and CEO David Stevens, she helped launch the foundation with a mission to assist families with critically ill children. Stevens brings over 40 years of experience in nonprofit work, having served on the foundation’s grant review committee and previously on its board of directors.

The Opens Doors Foundation collaborates with 13 children’s hospitals in eight states and the District of Columbia. Since 2011, the organization has provided housing assistance to over 17,000 families from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Guam. This support ensures that families undergoing medical crises can focus on their children without the added burden of housing insecurity.
