Rate adds top originator, REMAX bolsters sales leadership

Rate and REMAX, two major players in mortgage and real estate, are strengthening their leadership teams with new additions aimed at boosting production, service, and strategic growth.

Rate, a fintech-focused mortgage lender, announced that Torrey Jacoby (pictured left) has joined the company as vice president of mortgage, based in Houston.

A top-performing originator at both local and national levels, Jacoby brings more than a decade of experience and a track record of strong production, having closed over $62 million in loans in 2024 alone. Jacoby launched his mortgage career in Houston in 2011 after graduating from Pepperdine University and moving from California. Over the past ten years, he has consistently earned President’s Club honors.

“Torrey represents exactly the kind of leadership and production mindset we value at Rate,” said Todd Heaton, executive vice president and Western divisional manager for Rate. “He’s a powerhouse originator who’s built his business on relationships and repeat referrals. We’re proud to have him on board.”

At the same time, REMAX announced that Daniel Dennis (pictured right) has joined the brand as senior vice president of sales and service.

Bringing nearly 20 years of real estate leadership experience, Dennis will focus on enhancing service and operational support for brokerages across REMAX’s company-owned regions in the US, as well as driving franchise growth through sales, conversions, mergers, and acquisitions.

"Daniel is an accomplished industry leader with a strategic, results-driven mindset and a passion for supporting brokers and agents," REMAX chief growth officer Chris Lim said in a media release. "I believe his depth of experience and passion for the industry will strengthen our operations and reinforce our dedication to affiliate success across the network."

Dennis previously served as president of Illustrated Properties Real Estate in Palm Beach, Florida, where he oversaw more than 600 associates across 21 offices, leading the firm to record-breaking recruitment milestones. Before that, he spent over a decade as CEO of Roberts Brothers Inc., a Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices affiliate in Mobile, Alabama.

"This is an exciting time for REMAX as we continue to evolve and invest in top-tier talent. Daniel's leadership and operational expertise align perfectly with our mission and vision. We're thrilled to welcome him to the team," REMAX CEO Erik Carlson added.

Dennis’s hiring is part of a broader leadership refresh at REMAX, following the appointments of Don Kottick as president of REMAX Canada and other key leaders such as chief growth officer Chris Lim and executive vice president of strategy Travis Saxton.

"This is a transformative time for REMAX," Dennis said. "I'm honored to join such a respected organization – the most productive brand in real estate – and look forward to partnering with our brokers and agents to help them succeed."
