Southern Bancorp, Inc., a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), had announced that Ginny Markham-Jones (pictured above) will be its new director of mortgage operations & compliance.
“We are thrilled to welcome Ginny to our growing mortgage team,” said Jeremy Davis, president of mortgage.
“Her decades of experience in the industry and as a purpose-driven leader align well with the Southern Bancorp mission and the impact we hope to create with our expanded mortgage department – to bridge the homeownership gap for minority and under-resourced households and communities throughout the South,” he added.
Who is Ginny Markham-Jones?
With more than 20 years of experience, Markham-Jones has held almost every role within mortgage operations. Her most recent was being the chief operations officer and executive vice president of operations for InQlusion Mortgage Capital, a concierge home financing company.
Prior to that, she was the regional operations manager at FirstBank where she launched a diversity-focused homeownership division. The division was awarded with the 2020 National Mortgage Bankers Association’s Diversity & Inclusion Award for its strategies in market outreach.
According to her LinkedIn, she also held the role of lead production specialist at Synovus, a financial services company, for more than seven years.
As Southern Bancorp’s director of mortgage operations & compliance, Markham-Jones will be leading and facilitating the firm’s mortgage operations.
“It’s an honor to join the Southern Bancorp team and be part of this exciting growth period for both the company and our mortgage division,” said Markham-Jones.
“As we expand our capabilities and reach in the industry, we seek to deliver the opportunity of homeownership for more families and communities, particularly those that have long faced barriers to entry,” she added.
