Real estate moguls arrested by FBI in Florida

Two luxury real estate tycoons and their brother have been arrested by federal authorities on unspecified charges in Miami, months after sexual assault allegations concerning the trio rocked the industry.

Prosecutors in New York said Wednesday that Oren and Tal Alexander, known for an array of celebrity and ultra-rich clients, had been arrested alongside brother Alon, an executive at a security firm.

Civil lawsuits filed this year have alleged rape and sexual assault against Oren and Alon, while Tal has also faced accusations of sexual misconduct. Their lawyers have described those suits as meritless and the men have denied the allegations, and it remains unclear whether the arrests are linked to those accusations.

FBI agents and police vehicles were seen outside Oren’s Miami home on Wednesday, with FBI spokeswoman Adrienne Senatore confirming to Bloomberg that a “law-enforcement matter” was being carried out.

Tal and Oren founded their own brokerage, Official, in 2022 after emerging as star brokers at Douglas Elliman. They brokered the most expensive home sale in US history, the $238 million purchase of 220 Central Park South – a Manhattan skyscraper – in 2019.

The brothers had stepped away from Official in the wake of the allegations, facing the departure of key staff and the removal of the firm from major projects.
