The deal expands the international real estate firms' property management capabilities
Canadian real estate firm Avison Young has acquired Washington, DC-based BMS Realty Services.
The firm has immediately rebranded as Avison Young with BMS founder Larry McCulley becoming Executive Vice President, Real Estate Management Services in the firm's Washington, D.C. office.
Twenty-three members of BMS staff also join the international firm and will work closely with Josh Peyton, Avison Young Principal and Managing Director of the company's D.C. Metro offices
"We are thrilled to be joining Avison Young and to be able to work closely with the team in Washington, D.C. to deliver property management solutions for clients," says McCulley. "The collaborative culture at Avison Young was a draw for our entire team, as was the opportunity to continue to achieve results for clients in a business without silos. It's a great fit all around."
McMulley was director of property management at Jones Lang Lasalle before he founded BMS and he has known Avison Young chair and CEO Mark E. Rose for a quarter of a century.
"The dedicated team of professionals at BMS has a great track record of working with clients to heighten building performance and deliver results through streamlining operations, attracting and retaining tenants, and enhancing long-term property value," said Rose.
