The social media network for professionals has revealed its latest analysis of career-related activity to show the top firms that people want to work for and real estate and lending companies have made the grade.
LinkedIn Top Companies 2017 is based on billions of interactions by more than 500 million users and ranks the data in various countries including the US.
Firms making the list share certain qualities including a vibrant workplace culture, generous perks, flexible working and equality.
The rankings, which exclude LinkedIn and its parent company Microsoft, consider factors such as job applications, views of the companies on the platform, and how long people have worked at the companies.
Only those companies with at least 500 employees are included in the analysis.
The tech sector leads the pack with Google-parent Alphabet, Amazon, Facebook, Uber and Apple all in the top ten along with entertainment firms such as Disney and Time Warner.
Real estate’s best ranking is for global firm CBRE which takes number 18, just behind Twitter. The firm is noted for its flexible working approach in its Los Angeles headquarters, its commitment to sustainable energy and to workplace diversity.
JP Morgan Chase is at number 20. The lender is highlighted for its commitment to close the gender pay gap and increase diversity.
Workers in the Chicago HQ of commercial real estate firm JLL (number 21) enjoy a newly-revamped workspace which includes wi-fi enabled cafes and a two-story ‘club’ for events.
Two other financial services firms are highlighted. Investment firm Blackrock Financial, banking giants Capital One and Morgan Stanley and global financial services firm KPMG.
