Investing time and effort into relationships with home buyers and doing a good job of marketing sellers’ homes is the way to achieve customer satisfaction according to J.D. Power.
In its latest Home Buyer/Seller Satisfaction Survey the firm says that first-time buyers are generally more impressed with their real estate agent than repeat buyers.
“With the real estate market remaining strong, it is more important than ever that agents, buyers and sellers focus on the trade basics, especially for first-timers,” said Greg Truex,senior director of the at-home practice at J.D. Power.
“When agents remain transparent, informative and responsive, they can greatly impact customer satisfaction and increase agent reputation and recommendations.”
The rankings are out of 1000 and the highest scoring for both first-time buyers and first-time sellers is Century 21 with a score of 867 for buyers and 859 for buyers.
For repeat home buyers, Keller Williams is top with 863, while Berkshire Hathaway tops the repeat home seller category with a satisfaction ranking of 858.
J.D. Power says that keeping home buyers and sellers informed is vital for satisfaction ratings and adds 117 points for buyers and 93 points for sellers to their rankings.
More than one-third (35%) of first-time buyers and 44% of first-time sellers indicate they chose their real estate company based on its reputation, while 24% of first-time buyers and 17% of first-time sellers made their selections based on recommendations.
