A New Jersey city has been named the most affordable for buying a beach home.
Redfin looked at coastal cities with populations of 1,000+ where at least 3% of vacant units are flagged for seasonal use by the Census and Atlantic City topped the list with a median home value of $250,000.
“Atlantic City and its surrounding beach towns have so much to offer someone looking for a vacation home,” said Redfin real estate agent Kimberly Mogan.
While New Jersey took the top spot, the rankings were dominated by Florida with Miami, Clearwater, West Palm Beach and Daytona Beach completing the top 5; and Fort Pierce, Sarasota and Jacksonville all in the top 10.
The only other state to feature in the top 10 was Texas with Corpus Christi and Galveston in positions 6 and 7.
