The home credited with inspiring the songwriting of Elton John’s long-time collaborator Bernie Taupin is up for sale.
The RoundUp Valley Ranch at the end of RoundUp Road in Santa Ynez Valley, CA is situated in 30 acres of land and was bought by Taupin 25 years ago.
The main house is a Mediterranean style with five bedrooms and six bathrooms and there is a separate studio and office space. Outside includes a resort-style pool overlooking a pond, and an equestrian center with stables, outdoor riding ring and covered arena.
Taupin, who purchased the ranch 25 years ago, credits the property as the driving force behind the creative inspiration for his music and his original artwork. The separate two-story guest house is home to Taupin's art studio and office, where a collection of hit records and music memorabilia adorn the walls.
The listing is with Ann Abernathy of Ranch Marketing Associates and has a price tag of $4.7 million.
