WASHINGTON, D.C.//February 22, 2011//Sue Duncan is the new president of the nonprofit Alliance for Investor Education (AIE), a nonprofit consortium of 19 leading trade group, governmental and quasi-governmental U.S. organizations involved in investor education.
WASHINGTON, D.C.//February 22, 2011//Sue Duncan is the new president of the nonprofit Alliance for Investor Education (AIE), a nonprofit consortium of 19 leading trade group, governmental and quasi-governmental U.S. organizations involved in investor education.
The other newly elected AIE officers are Don Blandin, vice president, and Ken McDonnell, secretary/treasurer. Duncan, who also serves as vice president of the ICI Education Foundation (ICIEF) at the Investment Company Institute in Washington, DC, replaces Dallas Salisbury, president and CEO of the Employee Benefit Research Institute (EBRI), as the top officer of AIE. At ICIEF, Duncan directs the development and implementation of investor education partnerships, grants, awards, and programs, and has overseen the production of award-winning web, print, and video resources.
She is a member of the American Savings Education Council Policy Board, the Greater Washington Jump$tart Coalition Board, and has been named a delegate to the National Endowment for Financial Education?s Financial Literacy Symposia. ICIEF has been a member of the Alliance for Investor Education since it was formed in 1995. Duncan has been with ICI and ICIEF for 27 years.
Recent initiatives Duncan has launched at ICIEF include a grants program to deliver innovative investor education tools and training to teachers, adults, and students throughout the greater metropolitan Washington, DC area and an awards program to encourage participation by DC schools and students in the National Financial Capability Challenge.
Don Blandin was appointed president and CEO of the Investor Protection Trust (IPT), a nonprofit organization devoted to investor education, in 2004. As president of IPT, Blandin works frequently with state securities regulators on programs to help Americans of all ages become wise and safe investors.
