Hires to play a role in the company's nationwide expansion plans
Mortgage servicer Berkadia has announced the addition of three new members to its mortgage banking team – Carolyn Whatley, Laura Beaton, and George Spadier.
Whatley and Beaton will join Berkadia’s HUD team as managing directors. With 30 years of multifamily commercial real estate, Whatley will help the company rollout its expansion in the Southeast. Before Berkadia, she was responsible for the origination and analysis of loan requests for multifamily and healthcare properties along with other FHA/HUD-focused programs.
Beaton, on the other hand, will oversee the company’s growth in the Northeast region and work with its Boston team. She most previously worked as vice president for Walker & Dunlop where she provided multifamily mortgage and closed over $2 billion in agency loans.
Joining as senior director, Spadier will work closely with Berkadia’s current team in Los Angeles to improve client relationships and extend its reach in the Southern California market. He formerly served as vice president of Sunrise Mortgage & Investment.
“Bringing Carolyn, Laura and George on board enhances our regional and product expertise and is another step in our ongoing effort to cultivate best-in-class talent in every major market across the company,” said Hilary Provinse, EVP and head of mortgage banking at Berkadia. “We continue to broaden and diversify our offering — our recent approvals for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac small balance loan programs being one example — while we’re simultaneously adding strategic expertise and experience to our team.”
