CFPB chief operating officer to join FHFA

The Federal Housing Finance Agency has announced that Kate Fulton will be its new chief operating officer starting May 26.

Fulton currently holds the same position at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, where she has held several leadership roles for seven years. Before she became the bureau's COO, she served as deputy chief of staff and senior counsel.

FHFA Acting Chief Operating Officer Lawrence Stauffer will help Fulton's transition before going back to his previous role as special advisor in the agency's division of resolutions.

In her 17-year career, Fulton has worked at the Department of Homeland Security, US Customs and Border Protection, and at Shaw Bransford & Roth, a law firm representing federal employees.
