Company receives recognition for its contributions to the state
In recognition of its longstanding service and contributions to the community, Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont has officially proclaimed March 27, 2024, as William Raveis Day across the state.
The announcement was made amid preparations for William Raveis Real Estate, Mortgage, and Insurance’s annual convention slated for March 26-27 in Shelton, Connecticut.
Over 1,000 sales associates, managers, and employees are expected to attend the event, which will also serve as a celebration of the company’s 50th anniversary.
Founded in 1974 by then 27-year-old William “Bill” Raveis, Jr., the company began its operations above a grocery store in Fairfield, Connecticut. Over the years, it has grown to become the top privately held real estate company in the Northeast, Florida, and South Carolina.
William Raveis currently operates under the leadership of Bill Raveis (pictured above, center) as chairman, and his sons Chris (pictured left) and Ryan Raveis (pictured right) as co-presidents.
In his proclamation, Lamont commended the company for its considerable impact on local communities and the nation, highlighting the “many opportunities” that the company has provided to Connecticut residents.
Bill Raveis expressed his gratitude for the governor’s recognition and called it “a testament to all the dedicated sales associates, managers, and employees at William Raveis.”
He also emphasized the company’s commitment to community service and economic contribution, revealing that the William Raveis Charitable Fund had raised over $4 million for cancer research through partnerships with organizations like Damon Runyon and Dana-Farber.
William Raveis’ upcoming 50th annual convention will feature business education sessions and keynotes from Amy Jo Martin and Tom Ferry. It will also include live entertainment with Raveis the Musical, the Decadia Band, and Mike DelGuidice, known for touring with Billy Joel.
