The mortgage lender says it aims to establish the “strongest” leadership team in Chicago
CrossCountry Mortgage has hired industry executive Jeff Slater to lead the company’s Chicago team.
Slater brings more than three decades of mortgage experience to his new role as executive vice president of the Chicago region.
“Following the recent additions of Senior Vice President of Residential Lending Steve Siwinski and Senior Vice President of Business Development Mike McNerney, Jeff represents another huge step in our effort to establish the strongest leadership team of any mortgage company in Chicago,” said Chris Knapp, executive vice president at CrossCountry Mortgage. “He learned the business the right way, and his encyclopedic home financing knowledge will be invaluable to his colleagues and our customers.”
Like Siwinski and McNerney, Slater joined CrossCountry from Draper and Kramer Mortgage, where he served as senior vice president of residential lending. Slater has also held senior leadership roles at Guaranteed Rate, Bancgroup Mortgage, and BancPLUS Mortgage.
“My ability to navigate underwriting guidelines and my complete understanding of how to structure loans have been my biggest keys to success,” Slater said. “That success should only increase at CCM, thanks to the company’s exceptional approach to underwriting and loan officer first philosophy of allowing originators to structure loans their own way to better serve their customers.”
