The Federal Housing Finance Agency has appointed Sheila Greenwood as director of external relations.
In this role, Greenwood will oversee the Office of Congressional Affairs and Communications’ stakeholder outreach.
Greenwood most recently served at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau as policy associate director. Before that, she was the chief of staff to Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson, providing counsel to the Secretary on policy, legislative, and public affairs.
Greenwood also worked as the assistant secretary for Congressional and Intergovernmental Relations at HUD.
“I am pleased that Sheila will be joining me at FHFA," HUD Director Mark Calabria said. “Her management and housing experience are uniquely suited to the mission of FHFA.”
