Gateway's digital bank to launch in mid-2019
Gateway Mortgage Group has chosen FIS, a financial services technology provider, to provide a core banking platform that will power its new digital bank, Gateway First Bank.
Gateway Mortgage plans to launch Gateway First Bank, its full-service, direct-to-consumer digital bank, in mid-2019. FIS will provide the bank with an advanced online account origination system based on the next-generation FIS Digital One omnichannel platform.
“As we planned for the launch of Gateway First Bank, we selected a partner with deep experience and scale in digital banking,” said Gateway Mortgage CEO Stephen Curry. “I have worked with FIS in the past, and their platform will give us the modern functionality and digital services we need to attract and serve customers around the country.”
The new FIS platform will allow Gateway First Bank to provide its customers with a full set of responsive, personalized digital services. Customers could open and manage their accounts using their mobile and laptop devices through the Digital One online account origination system.
“We are excited to welcome Gateway First Bank as a new FIS client. FIS technology supports many of the leading direct-to-consumer banks in the market around the world. We look forward to helping Gateway First Bank take advantage of the power of digital banking to expand its customer base and meet its growth goals,” said Bruce Lowthers, chief operating officer of Integrated Financial Solutions at FIS.
