Freddie Mac names new finance chief

Freddie Mac has named a new chief financial officer.

The GSE has appointed Navient Christian M. Lown as executive vice president and CFO, effective June 15. He succeeds Donald F. Kish, who has served as interim CFO since December. Kish will continue serving as senior vice president, corporate controller and principal accounting officer.

Prior to joining Freddie Mac, Lown served as executive vice president and CFO at Navient Corporation. He has also served as the managing director of the Financial Institutions Group at Morgan Stanley.

“We welcome Chris Lown to Freddie Mack,” said CEO David Brickman. “His demonstrated success as a chief financial officer and strong background in the debt and equitycapital markets and in mergers and acquisitions will be invaluable as we prepare our company to exit conservatorship.”

“I am excited to join Freddie Mac as the company prepares for its next chapter, and I look forward to working with such a talented management team and innovative company,” Lown said.
