In his new role, Wallace will oversee all aspects of financial reporting, accounting operations, budgeting, forecasting, funding, and asset and liability management. He will also serve as CFO for Gateway Servco and Gateway First Bancorp and play a broader strategic leadership role within the company.
“We’re very excited to have Jonathan join the Executive Team, bringing both financial expertise and mortgage industry knowledge to lead our finance and accounting teams,” Gateway CEO Scott Gesell said in the company’s press release. “I’m confident Jonathan will help keep the teams laser-focused on effectively managing our business while continuing to deliver on Gateway’s commitment to strengthening families and communities in today’s competitive market.”
Wallace joins the company with a wealth of experience in the financial services industry, spanning over 24 years across multiple companies in the mortgage and banking sectors.
Prior to his new role at Gateway, Wallace served as chief financial officer at EnerBank USA, a division of Regions Bank. During his 14-year tenure at Regions Bank, he held various finance and profitability roles, including division finance executive for strategy, client experience and enterprise services.
Wallace began his career in Washington Mutual's mortgage capital markets division, where he gained expertise in wholesale loans and securitizations. During his 10 years at Washington Mutual, he also held several finance and treasury positions supporting retail and commercial banking. Additionally, he brings valuable experience as a Research Analyst at Grubb & Ellis, where he provided market intelligence to commercial real estate brokers.
