MBA brings on full-time president for Open Doors Foundation

The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) has appointed Deborah Dubois as president of its Open Doors Foundation.

MBA Opens Doors provides rental and mortgage payment assistance to families with critically ill children, allowing parents and guardians to be by a child's side during treatment without fear of jeopardizing their home. Since 2012, the foundation has made 1,800 grant awards to eligible families.

The appointment makes Dubois the first full-time president of the foundation. She takes over from Teresa Betz, MBA's Assistant Vice President of Operations, who served as foundation president for the past four and a half years. In addition to her responsibilities at MBA, Betz will continue serving the foundation as COO.

"Deborah Dubois brings years of philanthropic and nonprofit executive experience, which will take the MBA Opens Doors Foundation to the next level," said Debra Still, MBA Opens Doors Foundation chairman and president and CEO of Pulte Mortgage. "We have come very far in just five short years, and as president, Deborah will ensure we have the added resources to continue to grow and fulfill our mission of aiding families in need of our help."

In her new role, Dubois will work to grow the foundation’s donor base, develop and execute a long-term strategic plan, and oversee day-to-day activities. Before joining the foundation, she had served as chief development officer for the Center for Public Integrity, deputy executive director for justice at Stake, and vice president for the National Legal Aid & Defender Association. Dubois will report directly to MBA's COO, Marcia Davies, and indirectly to the foundation's board.
