What connects a realtor, Kanye West and The Great Gatsby?
A weatherman from Philadelphia who switched career last month to become a real estate agent has landed a prestigious home that he hopes to sell to a ‘future presidential candidate’. John Bolaris made the career change after 25 years and has announced that he is the listing agent for a Long Island property that is said to be where F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote the classic novel The Great Gatsby.
So where does Kanye West fit in? Philly.com reports that the rapper, who recently said he would run for president in 2020, has been singled-out as Bolaris’ buyer-of-choice for the home. The realtor, licensed in New York and Pennsylvania, sent Kanye a barrage of messages on Twitter over the weekend suggesting that the home would be perfect for him and wife Kim Kardashian. So far there has been no response but you have to admire a realtor for trying!
GM president buys Detroit mansion with automotive history
General Motors president Daniel Ammann and his wife Pernilla have bought the former home of automotive pioneer Alfred J. Fisher. The home, in Detroit’s Palmer Woods sold for $1.55 million, one of the highest amounts paid for a Detroit home according to Detroit Free Press. The home dates back to 1926 and has been sold many times over the years. In fact it was bought in 2014 by a holistic therapist who intended to turn it into a treatment center for recovering addicts but opposition from the neighborhood scuppered the plan and it was put back on the market earlier this year.
