Find out more about some of the winners’ mortgage journeys and their achievements
Mortgage Professional America has revealed the winners of its seventh annual Elite Women awards. This year’s list featured an outstanding group of female mortgage professionals who continue to pour all their efforts into making the mortgage space more inclusive for all people – no matter their gender identity.
MPA searched far and wide for the latest batch of elite women by asking mortgage professionals across the country to nominate exceptional female leaders. Nominees had to be working in a role that related to, interacted with, or in some way impacted the industry and should have demonstrated a clear passion for their work.
The MPA team asked the nominators to describe the nominee’s standout professional achievements over the past 12 months, along with their contributions to diversity and inclusion in the industry and how they’ve given back through volunteer roles and charity work. MPA also considered recommendations from managers and senior industry professionals. After much deliberation, the team narrowed the list to the final 68 elite women who are flying the flag in the mortgage industry.
Among this year’s winners was Helen Ghebremichael of NRL Mortgage. She was highlighted because of her thorough understanding of the business and industry, which proved crucial in ensuring the company moved without a hitch during the pandemic. Helen led her team through those ambiguous times while consistently advocating for diversity in the workplace.
Meanwhile, other elite women winners shared their valuable insights on the current landscape for women in the mortgage industry, as well as the double standards women in leadership face. You can get their expert advice and more by reading the MPA Elite Women 2022 special report.
