Long-time area resident will lead the Columbia office
New American Funding celebrated the opening of a new branch in Columbia, S.C., this week.
Wonida Welch, a long-time resident of the area, will lead the market expansion as branch manager. She brings more than 25 years of mortgage experience and was named to the company’s President’s Council for 2017 in recognition of her high production levels.
“With all of New American Funding’s niche programs, we make mortgages affordable and we grow neighborhoods,” Welch said. “We’re excited about expanding New American Funding’s footprint across the region.”
Welch is joined by a team of top-producing loan officers, including two members of the President’s Council – Craig Johnson and Chris Marr. Johnson has also been recognized as one of the company’s elite loan originators in its Top Gun program.
Headquartered in Tustin, Calif., New American Funding is a family-owned mortgage lender with a servicing portfolio of $23 billion, over 145 branches and about 2,700 employees. New American has made Inc. 5000’s list of Fastest-Growing Companies in America five times. It has also been recognized by Fortune and Great Places to Work as one of the country’s top workplaces for diversity.
