Lender continues reforestation efforts in Earth day partnership
National mortgage company Newrez has announced its continued partnership with the non-profit One Tree Planted to celebrate Earth Day.
The tree-planting initiative aims to reduce Newrez’s carbon footprint while helping restore ecosystems damaged by wildfires, deforestation, and natural disasters. This marks the fourth year of collaboration, resulting in 40,000 trees planted worldwide.
“This is our fourth year partnering with One Tree Planted, and it’s been a key part of our strategy to reduce our impact on the environment,” Newrez president Baron Silverstein said in a media release. “As we continue to lead the way in our industry, focusing on how we can improve the environment that all of us, and our homeowners, live in is key to our outlook.”
One Tree Planted works with partners across North America, South America, Asia, and Africa to plant trees and revitalize forests, supporting improved air and water quality, biodiversity, and climate change mitigation.
The non-profit focuses on making it easier for individuals and businesses to contribute to reforestation, climate change combat, and environmental restoration worldwide.

“We are grateful for our continued partnership with Newrez and all the work we have been able to do together these past three years,” said Hannah Ewing, corporate partnership head at One Tree Planted. “As we move into our fourth year of partnership, we are excited to continue to get trees in the ground across the globe, having positive impacts on nature, biodiversity, and communities.”
Newrez’s collaboration with One Tree Planted is part of the company’s broader sustainability initiatives, which aim to reduce energy consumption, minimize waste, and promote environmentally responsible practices throughout its operations.
Newrez aims to reinforce its commitment to responsible corporate citizenship and a sustainable future through these efforts.
