The industry veteran brings nearly 40 years of experience to the role

National mortgage lender Open Mortgage has announced the appointment of Kathie Thomas as executive vice president of lending operations.
"Every person I met before joining Open Mortgage had an inquisitive mind," Thomas said. "Inquisitive minds are typically open to new ideas and easily adapt as the environment or market changes. This attitude is essential, with the mortgage space evolving at such a rapid pace. I know from experience that those who embrace change will thrive. It was important to me to feel like I could continue to learn and grow here."
Thomas has 39 years of industry experience, starting out as an underwriter, processor, and loan officer. She then served in more managerial roles including branch manager, operations manager and senior consultant. Prior to her position at Open Mortgage, she was the regional manager of business strategy at a leading national mortgage company.
In her new role, Thomas will support company growth by boosting efficiency, enhancing existing systems, and developing teams that “value and implement interdepartmental communication and collaboration,” the company said.
