A humanitarian trip to Guatemala provided the introduction between PRMI and its newest team member
The newest face at Primary Residential Mortgage, Inc. (PRMI) is someone whose passion for people and giving has taken him on a journey from the US to Guatemala and back.
PRMI has appointed Ronnie Chinchilla as manager of the PRMI Giving Network, a service initiative that partners with nonprofits to bring aid to communities around the world through nutrition, service and education.
“We believe giving back reflects who we are as a company,” says PRMI President and CEO Dave Zitting. “Through the Giving Network, we want to continue to cultivate a culture of giving at PRMI. We are thrilled to have Ronnie join our efforts and know his passion to serve will propel the Giving Network further to impact our communities across the globe.”
A Los Angeles native, Chinchilla is a longtime resident of Salt Lake City and speaks fluent Spanish. Prior to joining PRMI, he spent three years in Guatemala as a field coordinator for Habitat for Humanity.
“Giving back is something I have embraced as part of my life,” Chinchilla says. “I believe that everyone has something to be thankful for and something to give back.”
Chinchilla’s service in Guatemala is actually what brought him to PRMI in the first place. During his tenure there, he hosted a group of PRMI employees who had volunteered for Habitat for Humanity. During their trip, the PRMI employees grew close to Chinchilla and were impressed with his dedication to service.
“Ronnie has a way of instilling love for your fellow man in you through his love for people,” says Michelle Woodall, a PRMI employee who volunteered in Guatemala. “We were all so amazed by his knowledge and passion for the people of Guatemala. He is a very hard worker, and our team grew close with Ronnie because he created friendships with every person and made them feel welcome.”
“I want to be a resource for PRMI team members across the US who want to give back to their local communities through the Giving Network,” Chinchilla says. “With my experience, connections and ideas, I can complement PRMI’s giving culture and help grow the company’s service initiative to maximize its impact.”
