Rejuvenating Your Business!!

Rejuvenating Your Business Rejuvenation often brings to mind plastic surgery. As a verb, to rejuvenate means ?to become young again, to return to life or give new life or energy and to develop new youthful features?. Perhaps it is time to do a little plastic surgery on your business. The root word for rejuvenate is ?juvenile?. Juveniles are young children who act and play without the cares of the world. They take chances as they haven?t faced fears at this point of their lives. If they have fears, it?s because their parents put them there. What fears have been implanted into your business? In order to rejuvenate a company, something new always has to be in the works. In order to keep a company fresh a new product, marketing campaign or sales technique is constantly being introduced. Microsoft or Apple keeps advancing their businesses by creating new innovations on a regular basis. For sales professionals everyday must be exciting and greeted as if a child waiting for Christmas. No matter what is happening in the economy, creating a challenging and exciting vision for you will make each day a new adventure. What do you want your income to be? What will you need to do to make that happen? What will you need to do different to make it happen? It has been said that to do the same thing over and over and expect different results is a definition of insanity. Stop the insanity! Former Dallas Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson like to give his players motivational talks. During one talk, Jimmy said, ?I told them that if I laid a two-by-four across the room, everybody there would walk across it and not fall, because our focus would be that we were going to walk that two-by-four, but if I put that same two-by-four ten stories high between two buildings, only a few make it, because the focus would be on falling. The team that is more focused today is the team that will win this game.? The Cowboys won 52-17 that day. Focus is everything. Focus on what you want and it will come into your lives. Simplify your business. As a kid, there weren?t any cares to worry about. As an adult, there is consistently a full plate of cares and concerns. Green Bay Packer?s football coach Vince Lombardi was once asked why his teams were so successful. He immediately said that his play calling were simple plays that were executed well. ?It?s hard to be aggressive when you?re confused,? he said. The benefit of having a business plan, having a vision for your business and for your life is that it allows you to simplify. You can weed out, delegate, and eliminate all activities that don?t contribute to your goals that you have set for yourself. Everyday offers the opportunity for hidden treasures. Remember the fun of an old fashion scavenger hunt? The excitement of the clues, hunting for the treasures, and the satisfaction of finally finding the elusive prize. Let that enthusiasm seep into your daily hunt for business. Each new prospect or opportunity is a new prize and prospecting is the number one activity for your business to stay healthy. Create daily goals and reward yourself when you are successful. Look for opportunities that you haven?t tried before. Break the old routines and establish new ones. Toss out the old ways that you?ve done business and start new ones. By making these changes in your business, you will start to feel as you did when you got into the business. Change is good and new opportunities will come from your efforts. Napoleon Hill wrote a wonderful book titled, ?The Master Key to Riches?. Hill wrote, ?The great master key to riches is nothing more or less than the self-discipline necessary to help you take full and complete possession of your own mind. Remember, it is profoundly significant that the only thing over which you have complete control is your own mental attitude?. If Hill is correct, you can rejuvenate your thoughts. Find the master key. You?ll find it when you?re ready to seek. It?s there waiting for you. Education is at your fingertips. Utilize your time to the fullest advantage. Quit listening to sports and talk radio. Stop spending your drive time to return phone calls. Get books on tape and listen to new ideas how to improve yourself and your business.
