Industry veterans step into new roles for commercial and structured finance businesses
Commercial real estate company Greystone has announced the addition of Gary Stellato and Peter Fogarty to its commercial team.
Stellato will take on the role of managing director and counsel, and Fogarty will serve as director of Greystone’s commercial origination platform, which is on track to close over $1 billion of structured loans this year, according to the company.
“In 2021, Greystone launched a commercial mortgage business that is a leading provider of structured finance solutions for our institutional clients, including REITs, pension funds, and private equity,” said Scott Chisholm, head of multifamily and commercial business development at Greystone. “With the addition of Gary and Peter, Greystone’s commercial team brings together a formidable combination of institutional knowledge, relationships, and experience across the CRE capital markets including CMBS, as well as agency, HUD, and portfolio lending.”

Before joining Greystone, Stellato was a managing director and assistant general counsel at financial services firm Cantor Fitzgerald. In his new role, Stellato will provide transaction management and legal oversight for the commercial team’s structured finance transactions.
Meanwhile, Fogarty will be responsible for large loan credit and underwriting. The real estate veteran made the switch to Graystone from Société Générale, where he spent five years working in real estate structured finance. Prior to that, Fogarty held a similar role at REIT Redwood Trust and RBS Greenwich Capital.
