It hires senior mortgage banker with 20 years of industry experience
KeyBank Real Estate Capital (KBREC) has welcomed industry veteran Jonathan Wood (pictured) as a senior mortgage banker specializing in multifamily lending in the northeast region.
Based in Boston, Wood’s role will primarily involve originating loans for the multifamily sector through various financing channels, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, CMBS, life companies, and debt funds. He will report directly to Dirk Falardeau, regional manager of KBREC’s Commercial Mortgage Group.
With over two decades of experience in commercial mortgage banking, Wood has built a strong reputation in the real estate finance sector. Before his move to KeyBank, he served as a managing director at Lument, where he played a significant role in sourcing clients and maintaining relationships with key financiers like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
Additionally, his extensive career includes time spent at Capital One as a senior vice president and an early role as an FHA pre-screen manager at Deutsche Bank Berkshire Mortgage.

“We’re excited to have Jon on our team. He has a proven track record for closing debt and equity transactions across the full spectrum of property types utilizing various sources of debt,” Falardeau said in a media release sent to MPA via email. “As we continue to expand our platform, his experience and relationships will be a valuable asset to our team and clients.”
Wood’s appointment comes at a time when KBREC is actively expanding its reach in the commercial and multifamily lending sector. Earlier this year, the firm brought in Tom Wight (pictured) as VP of mortgage banking for its commercial mortgage group in Northern California.
