Company is focused on becoming a leader in affordable housing finance, CEO says
NewPoint Real Estate Capital has tapped Bryan Dickson and Karen Kim as managing directors of affordable originations as part of its efforts to build an affordable housing finance platform.
Dickson and Kim will oversee NewPoint’s agency and proprietary affordable housing lending division. In addition, they will work with the product and underwriting teams dedicated to serving the affordable housing community.

Dickson has more than 20 years of lending and underwriting experience in the affordable housing market. Before joining NewPoint, he led Citi Community Capital’s affordable housing debt origination and investment banking in the Mid-Atlantic and throughout the country as regional director. Prior to that, Dickson served as a producer at Freddie Mac’s Targeted Affordable Housing Sales and Investments group.
Meanwhile, Kim has spent the past 10 years working with various firms providing custom loan programs for affordable and conventional housing developments. Most recently, she worked as a relationship manager at Greystone.
