Two experts brought in to help accelerate expansion of its non-agency business
Non-QM lender Deephaven Mortgage is bolstering its wholesale unit.
The Charlotte-headquartered nonbank has tapped industry veterans Sunny Thiara and Luke Turner as regional sales vice presidents of wholesale. Both will be in charge of leading and mentoring Deephaven’s account executive teams as part of the company’s strategy to grow its non-agency lending business.
“Sunny and Luke share Deephaven’s commitment to accelerating mortgage brokers’ growth by empowering them with creative new non-QM loans. They have a track record of innovation and leadership that will energize our partners, our people and the marketplace,” said John Keratsis, president and CEO of Deephaven.

Thiara, based in San Francisco, joins from Land Home Financial Services, where he most recently served as senior vice president. Meanwhile, Turner was previously a branch manager at Veterans United Home Loans.
“I am excited to enable the wholesale channel to compete and grow using Deephaven’s creative and progressive non-agency products,” Thiara said.
“I am looking forward to helping our account executives reach their potential and ultimately enabling more individuals to realize the American dream of homeownership,” Turner said.
