Initiatives aim to give mortgage brokers a competitive edge
United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM) rolled out two initiatives designed to help independent brokers grow their businesses at the Association of Independent Mortgage Experts (AIME) annual FUSE event.
During the event, UWM chief executive Mat Ishbia announced Memory Maker, an in-house tool that allows brokers to send personalized thank-you emails, handwritten notes, or gifts (cutting board or welcome mats) to borrowers and real estate agents.
Brokers can send thank-you emails – free of charge – after every loan transaction through UWM’s EASE platform. Meanwhile, the handwritten notes and gifts can be purchased with a credit card or by redeeming LO Partners Points, which UWM clients earn on a regular basis.
“Once brokers choose which thank you item they’d like to send, they simply select when they’d like it sent, and UWM will handle the rest,” the wholesale lender said in its release.
“Memory Maker is a simple and efficient way for brokers to make a lasting impression with borrowers and real estate agents long after a loan is closed,” said Ishbia. “We know that something as simple as a personalized cutting board or a handwritten thank you note can go a long way in building a relationship, which can lead to referrals and repeat business down the road.”
In addition to Memory Maker, UWM has announced lowering the fee of its PA+ loan processing support service, which allows brokers and their processors to choose which part of the loan process they’d like a UWM loan coordinator to handle.
“The purpose of PA+ is to give independent mortgage brokers and their processors more flexibility, control and support,” Ishbia said. “This is giving brokers the access they need to scale their business immediately, which will become more critical when rates come down and volume increases.”
