Zillow Offers returns to homebuying and selling after pausing operations due to COVID-19

Zillow Offers resumes operations in six markets

Zillow has announced that it is resuming homebuying and selling operations in six additional markets as the real estate industry steadily recovers from the coronavirus outbreak.

Zillow announced Tuesday that it is now buying and selling homes in Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, Sacramento, San Antonio, and Texas through its digital homebuying platform, Zillow Offers. In March, the company halted its operations in the 24 markets where Zillow Offers operates as the COVID-19 pandemic hit the US economy.

"Our goal at Zillow is to help people navigate what can be a stressful and complex process, and with Zillow Offers, give them a way to skip over a lot of the hassles and challenges of selling a home today," Zillow President Jeremy Wacksman said. "People still want and need to move. With new digital tools and health protocols, Zillow Offers can help people safely unlock the next stage of their lives with greater certainty, control and convenience."

As part of the reopening, Zillow launched a new initiative, called "Move Forward, Stay Safe", to provide COVID-19 safety guidelines when buying, selling, or renting a home.

Selling through Zillow Offers enables homeowners to sell with limited in-person interactions and provides eClosing options. Zillow also offers virtual tools, including 3D home tours, through its app or website.
