This news is the latest example of the company’s continuing expansion in its supply of IT bureau and managed services, which already lists names such as Dudley, Furness, Ipswich and Loughborough building societies plus a leading offshore banking operation among its clients.
The new relationship will see BCS providing Chesham with a fully managed IT solution, all IT hardware, software, maintenance and network management, as well as service desk and relationship support. This will alleviate the need for any day-to-day management of IT related issues for Chesham, will substantially reduce the costs of supporting its business operations and will provide ‘future proofing’ at no additional cost, since all core system developments will be delivered free of charge.
Mark Smitheringale, chief operating officer for BCS, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Chesham onboard and are looking forward to providing the UK’s oldest building society with our contemporary IT infrastructure. Like all our other clients, Chesham will benefit from BCS’s ‘all-inone’ solution which has been built, maintained and developed by Skipton Building Society, not only for Skipton’s own use, but also for the benefit of other building societies.
“BCS has now migrated new clients from a wide variety of outsourced and ‘in-house’ providers and this switch been completed on time and on budget, thanks to a great deal of hard work and commitment by staff from both societies.”
