A Nationwide spokesperson confirmed that Rabbitt left on Monday 17 March for family reasons and his role would be filled by Ian Andrew, current head of sales at Nationwide, for the time being.
The lender will be recruiting for the role in the coming weeks and his replacement will be announced shortly.
