Ipswich Building Society has appointed Matthew Thomas as an underwriting manager and Jodie Claxton as a mortgage manager.
Thomas has over 28 years’ experience in financial services and specialises in operational credit management. Before joining Ipswich Building Society he worked at Virgin Money for 14 years in three different roles including strategic projects manager and chief operational underwriter.
Claxton, who will be responsible for post completion, has joined from Capita Mortgage Services where her last role was operational delivery manager.
Paul Winter, Ipswich’s chief executive, said: “Jodie and Matthew bring a wealth of skills and experience which will enhance our mortgage team and ensure borrowers continue to receive a high standard of service.
“Too many credit-worthy borrowers with unusual circumstances find themselves overlooked by banks and building societies which conduct machine-only approval processes.
“However, Ipswich Building Society implements a manual underwriting process to ensure each application is assessed thoroughly and fairly.”
