Cory Bannister, senior VP and chief lending officer at La Trobe Financial, is an experienced mortgage professional who has successfully managed the distribution, origination and asset allocations of large mortgage portfolios, both for institutional and retail investors on behalf of a leading Australian owned funds manager with more than $10 billion under management. Bannister has been with La Trobe Financial for more than 20 years. Throughout his tenure he has held a number of positions including lending manager, credit and funds manager, business projects manager, portfolio manager, head of credit, and executive head of distribution. He was recognised as being one of the 50 most influential social media users in finance in 2015 by Financial Standard #FSPOWER50, and ranked in Mortgage Professional Australia’s 2017 Hot List, as well as in the 2019 Mortgage Global 100. He holds a Diploma of Mortgage Lending, Banking, and Financial Support Services from Kaplan, and an Advanced Diploma of Business (Accounting) from TAFE NSW.
