Melanie Feliciano joined Garrison Horn in July 2020 as partner, after nearly 10 years at DocMagic as chief legal officer. In her current capacity, she provides strategic legal advice to mortgage technology providers, mortgage originators, mortgage brokers, and others in the mortgage industry, arming them with the legal parameters necessary to successfully deliver their products and services and/or providing legal advice with respect to their operational matters and goals. In her previous role as head of DocMagic’s legal department, she oversaw everything from negotiating, drafting, reviewing, and revising contracts with vendors to handling the department’s day-to-day affairs. Before joining the DocMagic team in 2004, initially as assistant general counsel, Feliciano was a senior associate attorney at Swedelson & Gottlieb, where she dealt with a variety of issues affecting homeowners associations. A licensed attorney in California and a member of the State Bar of California, Feliciano has worked with various law firms in Los Angeles and consulted with clients in various industries, including financial institutions and real estate developers. She was included in Mortgage Professional America’s Elite Women 2018. Feliciano holds a Bachelor in Business Administration degree in Accounting from Southern Methodist University, and a Doctor of Law from Georgetown University Law Center.
