Former Fifth Third Bank exec to lead Southeast growth
Planet Home Lending has appointed Andy Insua (pictured) as regional sales manager for the Southeast.
Insua brings extensive experience in consumer finance, commercial banking, and mortgage banking to the role. His key focus will be expanding Planet Home Lending’s retail branch network in the market.
“Under Andy’s leadership, MLOs and branch managers will have the distinctive advantage of working with a leader who not only understands the market’s intricacies but also brings a personal commitment to serving diverse communities,” said John Bosley, president of mortgage lending at Planet Home Lending.
Insua previously held leadership roles at Fifth Third Bank, Prospect Mortgage, Supreme Lending, and AmeriFirst Home Mortgage. Most recently, he had a stint at Citywide Home Loans as national sales leader.
He has a proven track record in developing mortgage products and strategies, including those targeting the Hispanic community.
“Insua’s record of accomplishment includes significant roles at AmeriFirst Home Mortgage, where he led the company’s efforts to expand products and distribution to the Hispanic community across the United States,” Planet Home said in its media release. “As a senior vice president at Fifth Third Bank, he built and led a large team of leaders and originators who partnered with the retail bank’s business and private bankers to significantly grow the company’s mortgage market share in Florida.”

Planet Home Lending offers a range of home loan products tailored to homebuyers in the Southeast, including Cash 4 Homes, Purchase EDGE, and 1st Year Flex. Additionally, it caters to niche markets with one-time close construction, bridge, renovation, and manufactured home loans.
Insua’s appointment comes on the heels of Planet’s expansion in the Western region with the addition of Matt Kingsborough as regional sales manager. The retail lender also recently hired seasoned mortgage banking expert Doug Long as its new senior vice president and divisional sales manager.
