Plaid launches digital loan application

Plaid, a technology company that works to connect consumer's bank accounts with financial applications, has rolled its newest product, called Assets.

Assets allows lenders to embed Plaid directly into their applications to improve the digitization of the loan-application process. The product was released in beta in 2017. Plaid said the product helps drive operational efficiency and ensures information completeness and integrity. For borrowers, the tool allows the quick sharing of information required by lenders directly from the source.

Additionally, Plaid announced that Assets has been accepted as a provider of asset verification for Fannie Mae's Desktop Underwriter validation service, which is part of its Day 1 Certainty initiative.

"Plaid's journey in mortgage is just getting started,” said Kate Adamson, head of mortgage at Plaid. “We look forward to providing the industry with solutions that better serve borrower needs across the loan cycle, and building more partnerships with leaders like Fannie Mae to deliver solutions that benefit both lenders and borrowers to move the industry forward."
